Judge Christian J. J. Towns - Professional Background & Legal Expertise

Biography

The Hon. Christian J. J. Towns is a judge for the San Bernardino County Superior Court in California. She was appointed to the bench by Governor Gavin Newsom on August 8, 2022, filling the vacancy created by the retirement of the Hon. Donna Garza.

Prior to her appointment, Towns was a deputy district attorney for the San Bernardino County District Attorney’s Office, a position to which she was named in 2012. Before that, she spent time as a deputy district attorney for the Ventura County District Attorney’s Office (2010 to 2012).

Towns earned a bachelor’s degree in political science and government from the University of Southern California. She then completed a J.D. at Stetson University College of Law. She was admitted to the State Bar of California in 2010.

She was a resident of Rancho Cucamonga, California, at the time of her appointment.

Towns is registered as a Democrat.
