Judge Christi Kennedy: Professional Background and Legal Expertise

Biography

The Hon. Christi Kennedy (Ret.) was a judge for the 114th District Court of Texas in Smith County. Kennedy was elected to the bench in 2008. She retired at the conclusion of her term in 2020 and continued to serve as a senior district judge.

Prior to joining the judiciary, she worked as a civil law attorney at the law firms of Potter Minton and Flowers Davis. Kennedy had also served as a briefing attorney for the Twelfth Court of Appeals in Tyler.

She received a bachelor’s degree in art history from Louisiana State University. Kennedy then completed a J.D. at Baylor University School of Law in 1993.
