Biography

Hon. Chastidy Dillon-Amelung is a commissioner for the 21st Judicial Circuit Court (Division 46) of Missouri. She was appointed to the bench in 2019.

The 21st Judicial Circuit includes St. Louis County.

During her judicial tenure, Dillon-Amelung has served as a traffic commissioner and presided in the Department of Revenue.

Prior to her appointment, she had managed her own private practice since 2012. During that time, Dillon-Amelung handled criminal defense, administrative licensing actions, and estate and tax planning. Before entering private practice, she was an assistant prosecuting attorney with the Boone County Prosecutor’s Office (2002 to 2006), senior counsel for the Missouri Director of Revenue (2007 to 2012), and a special assistant attorney general with the Missouri Attorney General’s Office (2009 to 2012).

In addition, Dillon-Amelung has served as a trainer for the Missouri Office of Prosecution Services, the Missouri Association of Criminal Defense, and The Missouri Bar.

She received a B.A. in philosophy, law, and rhetoric from Stephens College in 1997. Dillon-Amelung went on to complete a J.D. at the University of Missouri School of Law (2002) and an LL.M. in taxation from Washington University in St. Louis School of Law (2010).

She was admitted to practice in Missouri (2002) and Connecticut (2006).
