Biography

The Hon. Charles E. Roberts (Ret.) served as an associate district judge for the Love County District Court in Oklahoma. Roberts was appointed to the bench in 1990. He retired at the conclusion of his term in 2015.

After retiring from the bench, Roberts joined the Love County District Attorney’s Office. He spent the next two years serving as an assistant district attorney, handling criminal prosecutions and civil litigation. During this time, he also worked for Legal Aid of Southern Oklahoma. Then, in 2017, he joined the Jason May Law Office.

Roberts earned a bachelor’s degree from Wichita State University in 1974. He spent the next few years working as a probation and parole officer for the Oklahoma Department of Corrections before completing a J.D. at the University of Oklahoma College of Law in 1978.

He is admitted to practice in Oklahoma (1979), the United States District Court for the Western District of Oklahoma (1979), and the United States Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit (1979).

Roberts was named Regional IV Prosecutor of the Year by the Association of Oklahoma Narcotic Enforcers (2016).

He was raised in Marietta, Oklahoma.
