The Hon. Charles A. Ehrlich is a judge for the Philadelphia County Court of Common Pleas in Pennsylvania. Ehrlich was elected to the bench in 2011.
Over the course of his judicial career, Ehrlich was instrumental in the creation of the Mental Health Court, the DUI Treatment Court, as well as the Alternative Treatment for Misdemeanants Program and the Diverting Offenders Into Treatment Program (DO-IT)
Prior to his election, Ehrlich worked as an associate at Marshall, Dennehey, Warner, Coleman & Coggin. He joined the firm in 2010, where he handled civil litigation matters until his election to the bench. Before that, he served as an Assistant District Attorney in the Philadelphia County District Attorney’s Office. During his tenure there, he rose through the ranks, eventually becoming Assistant Chief of the Family Violence & Sexual Assault Unit and Chief of the Municipal Court Unit.
Ehrlich earned a B.A. from Tufts University in 1976. He then completed a J.D. at American University Washington College of Law in 1981.
His memberships have included the Philadelphia Children’s Alliance Board of Directors.
