Biography

The Hon. Cenceria P. Edwards is a judge for the Kings County Civil Court in the Second Judicial District of New York. She was elected to the Civil The Hon. Cenceria P. Edwards is a judge for the Kings County Civil Court in the Second Judicial District of New York. She was elected to the Civil Court bench in 2015. Previously, Judge Edwards was designated to the Kings County Criminal Court in 2015 by the Hon. A. Gail Prudenti, former Chief Administrative Judge of the State of New York.

She is a registered Democrat.

She graduated with her B.B.A. in accounting from Bernard M. Baruch College. She went on to earn her J.D. from New York Law School in 1997.

After working as an auditor at an international accounting firm, Edwards became the corporate tax director at USA Networks.

Later, she became the managing partner at her own law firm, where she specialized in foreclosure, predatory lending, landlord/tenant, contract disputes, and probate matters.

Judge Edwards has served as the treasurer of the National Bar Association’s Judicial Council.
