Biography

Hon. Caroline C. Shepherd is a judge for the15th Judicial Circuit Court of Florida in Palm Beach County. She first joined the Palm Beach County Court in 2009. She was subsequently elevated to the Circuit Court by Governor Ron DeSantis in 2019, filling a vacancy created by the retirement of the Hon. Jeffrey Colbath.

Shepherd has held an assignment in the Criminal Division.

Shepherd earned a B.A. from the University of Southern California in 1986. She then completed a J.D. at New England School of Law in 1996.

After graduating from law school, Shepherd began her legal career as an assistant state attorney in the Office of the State Attorney for the Eleventh Judicial Circuit in 1997. Three years later, she joined the Office of the United States Attorney for the District of Columbia, where she served as an assistant United States attorney until 2002. At that time, she returned to Florida. She resumed her duties as an assistant state attorney, this time in the Office of the State Attorney for the Fifteenth Judicial Circuit.

Her memberships have included the Palm Beach County Bar Association, the American Bar Association, the Florida Association of Women Lawyers, the Florida Judicial Wellness Program, and the National Association of Drug Court Professionals.
