Biography

The Hon. Carla G. Testani is a judge for the Third Circuit Court in Michigan. She was appointed to the bench by former Governor Rick Snyder on May 31, 2018, filling a vacancy created by the resignation of the Hon. Megan Brennan.

Prior to her appointment, Testani was a partner at Fausone Bohn in Northville, a law firm she joined in 2017. Before that, she spent time as a partner at Cummings, McClorey, Davis & Acho (2011 to 2016). Testani handled family law matters, specializing in domestic litigation, mediation, and collaborative practice.

Testani earned a bachelor’s degree in environmental science and biology from the University of Michigan, Dearborn in 1995. She then completed a J.D. at Wayne State University Law School in 1998.

After graduating from law school, Testani entered into private practice, working as an attorney in the Law Office of Marie A. Pulte. She held that position until 2003, at which time she opened her own private practice as a sole practitioner.

Her memberships have included the Women Lawyers Association of Michigan, the Federalist Society, the Wayne County Family Law Bar Association (president), the Italian American Bar Association of Michigan, and the Incorporated Society of Irish American Lawyers. She has also been involved with the Strategic Planning Committee of the Third Circuit Court and the Executive Committee of the Michigan Judges Association.
