Judge C. Robert Hilliard: Professional Background and Legal Expertise

The Hon. C. Robert Hilliard is a judge on the Santa Rosa County Court in Florida. He was elected to the bench in 2004 and re-elected in 2010, 2016, and 2022.

Hilliard earned a B.A. from Emory University in 1977. He then pursued a career in the computer industry before completing a J.D. at Georgia State University School of Law in 1995.

His memberships have included the Conference of County Court Judges of Florida. He has also served as a member of the Florida Commission on Access to Civil Justice, a twenty-seven member commission tasked with researching ways to make civil legal services more accessible to the public.

He is a recipient of the Harvey Ford Award from the Conference of County Court Judges of Florida (2019).

When not presiding over legal proceedings, Hilliard enjoys creating and using HAM radios. As a member of the Milton Amateur Radio Club, he became a licensed amateur radio operator in 2013.
