Biography

Hon. Brandon L. Johnson is a judge for the Walla Walla County Superior Court (#1) in Washington. He was elected to the bench in November 2020 to fill the vacancy created by the retirement of the Hon. John W. Lohrmann (Ret.).

Prior to his election, Johnson had presided as a pro tem judge for the Walla Walla County Superior Court since 2016.

He received a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice from Washington State University in 1997. Johnson then completed a J.D. at Gonzaga University School of Law in 2000.

In addition to sitting as a pro tem judge, Johnson maintained a solo practice, where he specialized in complex litigation and family law matters. He had also acted as a mediator and arbitrator since 2015.

Johnson was a past president of the Walla Walla County Bar Association.

From a civic standpoint, he is credited with assisting in the formation of the Walla Walla County Sheriff’s Foundation and was a former board member of Liberty Christian School and SOS Health Services of Walla Walla and a former AWANA commander at Trinity Baptist Church.

Johnson was named Pro Bono Attorney of the Year by the Walla Walla County Bar Association and BMAC in 2009.
