Judge Bina K. Desai - Professional Background & Legal Expertise

Biography

Hon. Bina K. Desai is a judge for the Vicinage 8 Superior Court in Middlesex County in New Jersey. She was appointed to the bench by Governor Phil Murphy in 2019 to fill the vacancy created by the retirement of the Hon. Yolanda Ciccone (Ret.).

During her judicial tenure, Desai has held an assignment in the Civil Division in Middlesex County.

Prior to her appointment, she was the executive first assistant prosecutor for the Middlesex County Prosecutor’s Office, a position she had held since 2018. Before that, Desai served as a first assistant prosecutor there since 2005.

Her memberships have included the Middlesex County Bar Association and its Criminal Practice Committee (co-chair).

Desai completed a J.D. at Villanova University, Charles Widger School of Law.
