Biography

Hon. Austin Reeve Jackson is a judge for the 114th District Court of Texas in Smith County. He was elected to the bench in 2020, replacing the Hon. Christi Kennedy.

Prior to his election, Jackson operated The Jackson Law Firm, PLLC since 2008. Before establishing his firm, he was an associate at The Dick Law Firm in Georgetown (2005 to 2008). Jackson is board certified in criminal trial and criminal appellate law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization.

He received a B.A. in history from the University of Dallas in 2001. Jackson went on to complete a J.D. at Texas Tech University School of Law in 2004.

His memberships include the Smith County Young Lawyers Association and the Smith County Bar Association. Jackson is also a member of the Texas Bar Foundation, Leadership Tyler Catalyst 100, the Lindale ISD Alumni Foundation Board, Historic Tyler, and the Hispanic Business Alliance Board.

He was named Smith County Young Lawyer of the Year in 2013 and a Texas Super Lawyer Rising Star.

Jackson attended Lindale High School and is a seminary student at Fuller Evangelical Seminary. He is a third-generation attorney.

A Republican, he considers himself a grassroots conservative, having served as a Republican Party Precinct Chair and an advisor to State Representative Matt Schaefer on legislation involving legal issues.
