The Hon. Armen Tamzarian is a judge for the Los Angeles County Superior Court in California. He filled the vacancy caused by the retirement of Dudley W. Gray II. Tamzarian was appointed to the bench by former Governor Jerry Brown in 2013.
He is a registered Democrat.
Judge Tamzarian received his B.B.A. from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst. He went on to earn his J.D. from Southwestern Law School.
Tamzarian served as a research attorney for the Los Angeles County Superior Court for one year beginning in 1996. In 1997 he joined the law firm of Case, Knowlson, Jordan, and Wright, LLP as an associate. After five years with the firm, he was named a partner in 2002. He specialized in business and real estate litigation. In 2008 Judge Tamzarian became a senior appellate attorney for the 2nd District Court of Appeal in California. He remained there until his appointment to the Superior Court in 2013.
An Armenian American, Tamzarian's memberships have included the Armenian Bar Association as well as the western region of the Armenian National Committee of America (ANCA).
