Biography

The Hon. April L. Seibert is a special judge for the Tulsa County District Court in Oklahoma. She was appointed to the bench by the district judges of the Oklahoma Fourteenth Judicial District on August 14, 2017, filling a vacancy created by the retirement of the Hon. David Youll.

Seibert has praised the Tulsa County District Court for being one of the leading counties in alternatives to incarceration.

Prior to her appointment, Seibert was the founder of Seibert Law, where she handled criminal defense and family law matters. Before that, she spent time as an assistant district attorney for the Tulsa County District Attorney’s Office (2005 to 2010). During her tenure there, she handled a misdemeanor docket before moving to the felony drug team and the major crimes unit.

Seibert earned a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice and police science from the University of Nebraska at Kearney in 2002. She then completed a J.D. at the University of Oklahoma College of Law in 2005. As a law student, Seibert served on the American Indian Law Review.
