Judge Anna R. Anzalone: Professional Background and Legal Expertise

Biography

The Hon. Anna R. Anzalone (Ret.) served as a justice on the Nassau County Supreme Court in the 10th Judicial District of New York. She was elected to the bench on November 4, 2014.

Prior to her election, Anzalone was a judge on the Nassau County District Court, a position to which she was elected in 2003. During her tenure there, she sat as an acting judge on the Nassau County Court (2011 to 2014), presiding over the Nassau County Drug Treatment Court and the Veterans Treatment Court.

Anzalone earned a B.A. from Hofstra University. She then completed a J.D. at Touro College, Jacob D. Fuchsberg Law Center. She was licensed to practice in New York (1988).

After graduating from law school, Anzalone began her legal career as an attorney in private practice. She worked in that capacity until 1994, at which time she became a deputy court attorney for the Nassau County Bureau of Real Estate. Then, in 1996, she was hired as a hearing officer for the Nassau County Office of Labor Relations. She remained there for the next two years, eventually leaving to become a principal law clerk for the New York State Unified Court System.

Her memberships have included the Nassau Lawyers Association of Long Island and the Columbian Lawyers Association of Nassau County. She has also been involved with the Aida Lodge, the Order Sons of Italy, and Kiwanis International.

She is registered as a Republican.
