Judge Angela M. Landgaard: Professional Background and Legal Expertise

Biography

The Hon. Angela M. Landgaard is a judge for the Fayette County Probate Court in Georgia. She was appointed to the bench by the Hon. Ann S. Jackson in 2021.

Prior to her appointment, Landgaard was a partner at Slepian, Schwartz & Landgaard in Peachtree City. She currently heads the firm’s litigation department. She has also spent time as the Co-Conservator for the Fayette County Probate Court as well as a court-appointed attorney or guardian ad litem for the Fayette County Probate Court, the Fayette County Superior Court, and the Coweta County Superior Court.

Landgaard earned a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice from the University of Georgia in 1996. She spent the next several years working as a probation officer before completing a J.D. at Atlanta’s John Marshall Law School. She is admitted to practice in Georgia (2009) and the United States District Court for the Northern District of Georgia.

Her memberships have included the Fayette County Bar Association (president).

Landgaard was raised in Alpharetta, Georgia, where she attended Milton High School. She has been a resident of Fayette County since 2004. She and her husband, Jim, have three children.
