Judge Andre R. Borrello: Professional Background and Legal Expertise

Biography

Hon. André R. Borrello is a judge for the Tenth Circuit Court of Michigan in Saginaw County. He was elected to the bench on November 8, 2016, filling the vacancy created by the retirement of the Hon. Frederick L. Borchard (Ret.).

During his judicial tenure, Borrello has presided over the Drug Treatment Court in Saginaw County.

Prior to his election, he was the City Attorney for the City of Saginaw, a position contracted through the law firm, Gilbert, Smith & Borrello, P.C. Borrello joined the firm as a partner in 2003. He also served as the city’s former assistant city attorney, chief assistant city attorney, deputy city manager, director of public utilities, and contract attorney.

He received a bachelor’s degree from the University of Michigan. Borrello went on to complete a J.D. at Seattle University School of Law in 1993.

At the time of his election, Borrello resided in Saginaw Township.
