Biography

Hon. Aimee E. Banales is a judge for the Second Judicial District Court in Washoe County, Nevada. She was elected to the bench in 2020.

Banales received a B.A. in English from Penn State University and Westmont College. She went on to earn a J.D. from Northwestern School of Law, Lewis and Clark College.

She began her legal career as a deputy attorney general with the Nevada Attorney General’s Office, where she held an assignment in the Special Prosecution Unit.

After leaving the public sector, Banales went into private practice, where she specialized in family law.

She was a member of the National Charity League and was recognized for her pro bono work.

In 2017, Banales was appointed to serve as a Court Master with the Second Judicial District Court, Family Division. She remained in the Family Division after her election to the bench.
