RDER SETTING HEARING VIA ZOOM
THIS ACTION came before the Court upon a request for an evidentiary hearing on whether Dr.
Shore is qualified to provide standard of care opinions as to "administrative and other nonclinical
issues" against a hospital, health care facility or medical facility under §766.102(7), Fla. Stat. The
Court finds that this issue should be set for an evidentiary hearing. Due to the Supreme Court's
latest Administrative Order and the safety precautions necessarily caused by the COVID-19
pandemic, this Court finds that this hearing shall be conducted remotely, utilizing Zoom
technology. Therefore, it is,
ORDERED AND ADJUDGED that this case is scheduled for an evidentiary hearing
on February 23, 2021 at 3:00pm (1 hour reserved) before the undersigned Judge, via Zoom,
Alachua Family/Civil Justice Center, 201 E University Avenue, Gainesville, Florida.
FURTHER ORDERED: This hearing will be conducted utilizing Zoom. The parties/attorneys
are ordered to follow the procedures below in connection with this Zoom hearing:
Connecting to the Hearing: The Court will be hosting the hearing and there is no cost to any
participant. You will need a computer with a web cam and microphone (preferred) or a tablet with
Internet access the Zoom application. You can download the application and register for a free
account at www.zoom.us. The zoom meeting information for the hearing is as follows:

All parties should use the link to join the hearing prior to the start time. When linking into the
meeting, you must enter your full name as a participant, when prompted. Participants may be
entered into a virtual waiting room and they will be brought into the hearing when their case is
called. Due to high call volume, please expect delays and remain on the line.
Presentation of Evidence: If you intend to present any evidence or documents for the Court to
consider at this hearing, you must pre-mark all items for identification, using letters (ex. Plaintiff's
A, B, C, etc) and serve a copy to all parties using the e-portal no less than three (3) business days
prior to the hearing. If possible, please submit all documents, through the e-portal, in a single
submission.
In addition, a PAPER COPY of all exhibits must be received by the Court no later than 5 business
days (by February 16) prior to the hearing on your motion so that these items are available to be
marked by the judge and moved into evidence, by the parties, on the day of the hearing.
Attorneys and parties shall confer prior to the hearing to determine whether there are any
stipulations as to the admissibility of evidence.
Appearance of Witnesses and Parties: Any attorney or party requesting that third parties attend
the hearing will be responsible for sharing the Zoom hearing information with that third party and
for making arrangements for their appearance. This includes witnesses, court reporters, etc. The
court will not be able to call parties to include them in the hearing. Zoom links shall be shared
ONLY with individuals expected to participate in the hearing.
Each party shall provide the court with a list of all parties, witnesses, etc. who you expect to
participate in the Zoom hearing, no less than three (3) business days prior to the hearing.
Each party shall email the judicial assistant (and cc the other side) with a copy of the driver’s
license of each witness who that party may call to testify. The driver’s license number (except the
last 4 digits) may be redacted. The month and day of birth (but not the year) may also be redacted.
Decorum and Attire: Although the hearing is being conducted virtually, proper courtroom
decorum should be maintained. Participants should be in a quiet setting and minimize any external
distractions. Be aware of what is behind you and choose a solid neutral wall, if possible. Please
dress like you are coming to the courthouse.
