IN THE CIRCUIT COURT OF THE ELEVENTH JUDICIAL CIRCUIT IN AND FOR MIAMI-DADE COUNTY FLORIDA ADMINISTRATIVE MEMORANDUM No. 20-B 24 AF CAOL (Court Administration) IN RE: TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF SECTION 59 IN THE CIRCUIT CIVIL DIVISION AND REASSIGNMENT OF CASES TO REMAINING SECTIONS THEREIN enn WHEREAS, SECTION 59 was created on July 1, 2011 to handle Foreclosure Cases and was later expanded to include cases assigned to the Backup Trial Division at the Dade County ‘Courthouse In the Circuit Civil Division; and WHEREAS, with the retirement of Judge Jacqueline Hogan Scola, no judicial officer is currently assigned to Section 59; and WHEREAS, It was determined that Section 59 In the Circuit Civil Division should be temporarily closed and cases currently assigned to Section 59 should be equitably reassigned to the remaining Sections in the Circult Civil Division; and WHEREAS, notwithstending the redistribution of pending cases, the Section number should remain available in the event Section 59 has to be reopened; NOW THEREFORE, pursuant to the authority vested In me as Administrative Judge of the Circuit Civii Division of the Eleventh Judicial Cireyit Court of Florida and Rule 2.215, Rorida Rules of Judicial Administration, it is HEREBY ORDERED: 1, EFFECTIVE Wednesday, May 13, 2020, The Clerk of Court is hereby directed to equitably reassign all pending matters to the judicial section 59 located at the Dade County Courthouse to the remaining Circuit Givil Division sections; 2. Any inequities in caseload distribution amongst the remaining Sections will be adjusted by the Administrative Judge of the Circuit Civil Division; 3. Notwithstanding the temporary closure of Section 59, the Clerk is further directed to relain the section number In the event Section 59 has to be reopened and assigned 3 new judicial officer; 4. The Clerk Is further directed to reassign closed foredosure cases that are later reopened In this section through blind filing to the remaining Sections in the CircuitCivil Division; 5. Further, any closed non foreclosure cases previously reassigned to the Section 59 for trial purposes as @ Backup Trial Division that are later reopened shall be reassigned to the section from which the case was originally assigned; 6. Section 59 shall not receive any future foreclosure filings or reassignments as a Backup Trial Division until further order of Court. This Administrative Memorandum shall take effect on May 13, 2020 and shall remain in effect until further order of the Court.
