SUMMARY

In allowing partial summary judgment for the plaintiff-intervenor on Count III of her
cross-complaint, the court authorized an award of reasonable attorney’s fees and costs. In this
Memorandum and Order, the court sets out its award of $42,758.44 in attorney’s fees and
$5,415.05 in costs, for a total award of $48,173.49. This Memorandum and Order sets out the
grounds for the award.

BACKGROUND

In July 2017, the plaintiff-intervenor, Jennifer Carrion, intervened in this lawsuit while it
was pending in Federal District Court. Saba Hashem, one of the former, the former proprietors of
the law firm of D’Angelo & Hashem, LLC (“D’ Angelo & Hashem”) had brought the case
