Swan Street, 12th Floor Albany, New York 12210-8001 IN THE MATTER OF THE DESIGNATION OF THE MADISON COUNTY JAIL AS A SUBSTITUTE JAIL FOR Petition THE OSWEGO COUNTY JAIL BY THE NEW YORK STATE COMMISSION OF CORRECTION PURSUANT TO CORRECTION LAW, SECTION 504. Upon the application of Don Hilton, Sheriff of Oswego County, by Sgt. Rossiter, pursuant to Correction Law, section 504(1), for the issuance of a substitute jailorder in that the Oswego County Jail is,as a result of Overcrowding, at times unable to maintain classification requirements as required under Correction Law, sections 500,500-a, 500-b, 500-c, and 500-g, and itappearing to the New York State Commission of Correction that said Oswego County Jail may on occasicñ be unfit and unsafe in that proper classificati0ñ of all UNSENTENCED FEMALES lawfully committed to the custody of the Oswega County Jail cannot be maintaiñêd and there being no other suitable place within the County of Oswego for the confinement of such UNSENTENCED FEMALES, itis hereby ORDERED pursuant to Correction Law section 504 that the Madison County Jail be and is designated as a substitute jailfor the Oswego County Jailfor the confinement of such UNSENTENCED FEMALES lawfully committed to the custody of the Sheriff which the Oswego County Jail is unable to classify in accordance with law, and itis further ORDERED that upon the transfer of any UNSENTENCED FEMALE lawfully committed to the custody of the Oswego County Sheriff from the Oswego County Jail to the designated Madison County Jail pursuant to this order that such UNSENTENCED FEMALE shall be entitled to allthe rights and privileges of any pris0ñêrs now incarcerated or to be incarcerated in said designated substitute jail,and itis further ORDERED that the Oswego County Sheriff shall notify the New York State Commission of Correction in writing immediately upon the transfer of any UNSENTENCED FEMALE from the Osweg0 County Jail to the Madison County Jail pursuant to this order, and itis further ORDERED that this designation of a substitute jail is effective nunc pro tunc from January 8, 2021 until itis rescinded.
