26 Board of the Trona Joint Unified School District (“District”) for its failure t0 comply with the
27 mandatory salary uniformity requirements 0f California Education Code § 45028.

PETITION FOR WRIT OF MANDATE
PARTIES
1. Petitioner Trona Teachers Association, CTA/NEA (“TTA” or “Union”) is the exclusive
bargaining representative for a unit that includes certain certificated employees of the Trona
Joint Unified School District. Pursuant to Government Code section 3540.1, TTA is an
“employee organization . . . that includes employees of a public school employer and has as one
of its primary purposes representing those employees in their relations with that public school
employer.” As an “employee organization,” TTA has standing “to sue in any action or
proceeding . . . instituted by it as representative and 0n behalf of one 0r more 0f its members.”
Cal. Gov’t Code § 3543.8(a).
10 2. From August 2015 to June 30, 2023, Petitioner Michael Lane was a certificated
11 employee of the District and in the bargaining unit represented by TTA.
12 3. From August 2015 t0 June 30, 2023, Petitioner Valerie Gennrich was a certificated
13 employee of the District and in the bargaining unit represented by TTA.
14 4. From February 2013 t0 June 30, 2023, Petitioner Yesenia Goins was a certificated
15 employee 0f the District and in the bargaining unit represented by TTA.
16 5. From August 2015 to June 30, 2023, Petitioner Tyson LoPresti was a certificated
17 employee of the District and in the bargaining unit represented by TTA.
18 6. From August 2016 to June 30, 2023, Petitioner Cindy Winks was a certificated
19 employee of the District and in the bargaining unit represented by TTA.
20 7. From July 2012 to June 30, 2017 and August 2022 to June 30, 2023, Petitioner Joseph
21 Wolfe was a certificated employee 0f the District and in the bargaining unit represented by TTA.
22 8. Trona Unified School District is located in San Bernardino County, California, and is
23 now and, at all times mentioned in this petition, was a public school district, duly organized
24 pursuant to and bound by the laws 0f the State 0f California, and governed by Respondent Board
25 0f Trustees, who are sued herein in the name of the District as authorized by section 35162 0f the
26 Education Code.
