WAREHOUSE
In the area, quarantine stickers must be placed on incoming
receiving
goods within a 24-hour period. Generally, this time is less. Raw materials
are re-sampled on a yearly basis, except perfumes, which are re-sampled
every six months.
The warehouse floor was somewhat messy in several areas.
Trailers will be used initially for talc delivery to Kolmar. An enclosed
box at the loading dock contains the outlets for the air and vacuum lines
used in unloading. Locks will be put on this box. Immediately behind this
area, inside where the pumps are located, daylight was seen around the pipes.
Gaskets were suggested to keep out birds and insects. An empty juice can
was found near the blower.
PRIMARY ARFA
The hopper was in the process of being sanitized, A large plastic bag
covering the opening of the hopper reached the floor which was covered with
water. This could result in recontamination of the hopper.
There was ver y little walkway space around the silo. A safety grid or railing
was suggested.
FIN*SHING AREA
There are no bottle blowers on the finishing line. Plexiglass shrouds placed
over the line of bottles prior to would prevent contamina-
empty filling help
tion.
A drum of Sanitizer #1 was not labeled as to status. Kolmar's procedure
calls for sampling all such supplies.
SHIPPING
All finished goods are kept in a caged impound area. Generally, shipping time
is 7-10 days. The first in, first out system requires some follow-up to assure
this.
QA LAB
The QA laboratory was inspected and was in good order. Calibration stickers
were evident, reagents were properly labeled and recordkeeping was good.
All Kolmar employees undergo an initial GMP program. This is augmented
training
by updates every three months on selected topics.
