The named Respondent Vaughnell Gray, has been served by Certified Mail on May 23, 2023, pursuant to Rule 4, Ohio Rules of Civil Procedure. More than twenty-eight (28) days have passed without an answer or other pleading filed in this case. This action arises from an offense that renders the above captioned property subject to forfeiture pursuant to Chapter 2981, Ohio Revised Code. Pursuant to Ohio civil Rule 5(A), "service is not required on parties in default for failure to appear except that pleadings asserting new or additional claims for relief or for additional damages against them shall be served upon them in the manner provided for service of summons in Civ. R.4 through Civ. R. 4.6." As no new or additional claims for relief or for additional damages have been asserted against the Respondent, no Certificate of Service is attached hereto. Petitioner is entitled to default judgment pursuant to Rule 55 of the Ohio Rules of Civil Procedure, and therefore entitled to a judgment of forfeiture Respectfully submitted, G.
