On Jamuary 5, 2016, plaintiff Brent Houlihan filed a complaint against defendants Simon

Lavi, D.O., Edward C. Kolpin, D.O., and Southern California Hospital of Culver City for

medical negligence. Plaintiff alleges that on November 7, 2014, plaintiff underwent surgery by
23
24 Dr. Lavi and Dr. Kolpin on his lumbar spine. He has suffered debilitating pain, suffering, and
25 disability as a result of the surgery. Plaintiff has had multiple further surgeries to atempt to get
