FACTUAL BACKGROUND
This is an action for injunctive relief concerning violations of the Educational Employment
Relations Act (EERA). The Complaint alleges that Defendants, Alliance College-Ready Public
Charter Schools and a number of individual schools within Alliance’s network committed
several violations of the EERA by obstructing the organization efforts of Real Party in Interest
United Teachers Los Angeles (UTLA). (Complaint §{ 8-35.) The allegations in the Complaint
are the subject of four Unfair Practices Complaints (UPC) filed with Plaintiff Public
Employment Relations Board (PERB). (Complaint {{ 31, 35.)
PROCEDURAL HISTORY
PERB filed the Complaint on October 23, 2015, requesting injunctive relief.
On October 29, 2015, the court granted PERB’s Ex Parte Application for a Temporary
Restraining Order against Defendants.
On December 3, 2015, the court granted PERB’s Application for a Preliminary Injunction, which
provided as follows against Defendants:
