On 113-2022 at 2030 hours, | was dispatched to 7158 Wiley Road in reference to a person battered with injuries: Upon my arrival,
! made contact with Laurin Harville (witness/complainant) regarding a verbal altercation with her neighbor Daniel Gaddis.
{suspect).—
The witness/complainant stated a verbal altercation began when two female friends of the suspect showed up to his residence.
The female subjects became verbally combative with the witness/complainant. As the verbal altercation began to intensify
towards becoming physical, the suspect’s son Mykel Gaddis (victim 1) and niece Katlyn Highsmith (victim 2) ‘stepped int the
middle of the two parties to prevent physical contact. ~
She said victim 2 ended up physically fighting with one‘ of the suspect’ 's female friends. She can not recall what happened
because everything was moving so fast. But victim 1 was trying to separate the two parties. At some point the suspect and victim
1 became physical and victim 1 put the suspect in a choke hold/head lock to keep him from attacking him or victim 2
Victim 1 said victim 2 began to: physically fight with one of the suspect's female friends. As the two fought, the suspect ran
towards them pushing victim 2 to separate the.parties from fighting but caused victim 2 to fall down. Victim 1 said the suspect
was then on top offover victim 2,'so he pulled:him off of her. The suspect became verbally aggressive with victim 1 and
approached as if he was going to hit him. Victim 1 said he pushed the suspect backwards telling him to relax/chill. The suspect
pushed victim 1 back and the two began to argue some more.
Victim 2 sald the incident started with the witness/complainant and the suspect's female friend getting into a verbal altercation.
The suspect approached the witness/complainant who threw a drink in his face during their verbal exchange. After keeping the
parties from escalating to a physical fight, victim 2 began to fight with one of the suspect's female friends. While she was fighting
with one of the suspect’s female friends, the suspect body slammed her to the ground causing her to fall| about five feet away.
She.was unable to recall exactly what happened next but recalls victim 1 pulled the suspect off of her ai id the two began to
physically fight.
Hi spoke with the daughter of the witness/complainant Michaela Harville (witness 2). She stated the verbai altercation started with
the suspect's female frierids and the witness/complainant. At some point after stepping in the middle to prevent the two parties
from fighting, she heard victim 2 and one of the females fighting. She did not see it but heard victim
4 say the suspectis hitting_
victim 2. She Saw victim 2 holding the suspect in a choke hold/head lock to keep him from attacking.
Officer. J. Whalen #83405 spoke with Euyvondia Gaddis (witness 1). She advised the altercation involved the witness/complainant
and the suspect’s female friend. The suspect approached the witness/complainant who threw a drink in his face. Everyone was
arguing but there was nothing physical with the suspect and victims.
Officer J. Whalen provided the following statement.
“l asked the suspect if he had his driver's license or state ID card, and the suspect stated that he did not have it with him.

I then asked the suspect to provide his first, middle, and last name, along with his date of birth.
The suspect Stated that his name was “Thomas Houston Metcalf” and that his date of birth was 07/30/1983.

|. conducted a database search of the name the suspect gave me and was given no results of any individuals with that name and
date of birth. Upon further investigation, | discovered that Thomas Houston Metcalf was a different individual, and not the
suspect.
I then spoke with the suspect's mother who provided me the suspect's true name, Daniel Christopher Gaddis, and his date of
birth.
{then ‘asked the suspect for his name once again, and the suspect stated that his name was still Thomas Houston Metcalf.
I then detained the suspect and read him his Miranda Rights. Post-Miranda, the suspect stated that he gave mea false name due
to him not knowing if he had an active warrant. 1 1

I contacted ID & Records, and #5720 advised that the suspect had an active warrant out of Clay County."

The suspect stated he did not become physical with anyone on scene. He said everyone was arguing and he tried to defuse the
situation. The witness/complainant threw her alcoholic bevera: into his face as she argued with his female friend. The one of
his friends began to physically fight with victim 2 and he attempted to break them up. At some point he said he was put ina
chokehold and doesn’t remember what happened afterwards when he came to. He does not know who placed him ina chokehold
either. '
was unable to observe injuries to any of the parties on scene. The victims did not complete any domestic violence paperwork.

Due to the accounts of the parties varying, | am unable to prove a domestic violence crime occurred.
The suspect did not want to do anything regarding the witness/complainant throwing her drink in his face.
Victim 2 did not want to do anything concerning the physical altercation with the suspect's female friend.
The suspect will be charged for providing 4 false namefidentification information to a law enforcement officer.
The suspect’s active Clay County warrant #2022CT000833 is for traffic related offenses and failure to appear.

The suspect was transported to the jail for processing and booking.
