CLIENT, the Defendant-Appellant herein, respectfully requests that this Court
grant an extension of time of 35 days within which to file the Opening Brief in this
matter. As grounds for this request, the Defendant-Appellant states as follows:
1. Counsel for Petitioner has been busily engaged in other cases and matters,
including:
a. Many clients both in and out of custody dealing with the COVID-19

Pandemic.

b. Both prioritizing the release of inmates from the Weld County Jail, and

issues of speedy trial for cases Counsel currently has set for trial with
imminent speedy trial deadlines.

c. The three weeks preceeding this motion have been exceedingly trying

as it is nearly impossible to conduct business as usual, and this has
caused a delay in Counsel being able to prepare the Opening Brief for

this this appeal.

d. The courthouse is currently scheduled to be closed until June 1st of
2020, and Counsel is requesting an extension of 35 days, which would
align with that date.
