BRIEF
MICHAEL J. ROURKE, District Attorney in and for the Nineteenth Judicial District of
the State of Colorado, by his undersigned Chief Deputy District Attorney, respectfully requests
an extension of time from May 25, 2022 to file the Answer Brief in this matter. As grounds for
this request, the People state the following:
1. The Opening Brief was filed on May 4, 2022, making the deadline for the Answer Brief
May 25, 2022.

2. Due to the demands of the assigned attorney’s pre-planned vacation and county court
caseload, additional time is needed to research and respond to the Opening Brief in this
matter.
3. The undersigned conferred with the Appellant’s attorney, Deputy State Public Defender
Jordan Thomas, regarding the requested extension of time. She has no objection to the
requested extension of time.
4. The People request the Court grant an extension of time to file the Answer Brief, making
the new deadline June 30, 2022.
