ADDITIONAL CASE MANAGEMENT ORDERS CASE MANAGEMENT STATEMENTS (ver. 1.2) Updated Case Management Statements filed and served no later than ten court days before the next scheduled Case Management Conference are not necessary unless 1) a party has not yet filed a Case Management Statement in compliance with CRC 3.725 on Judicial Council form CM-110 in this case, 2) an updated Case Management Statement has been specifically ordered by the Court, or 3) there are material changes to the Case Management Statement previously filed with the Court. Courtesy copies of Case Management Statements are not required by Department 514. INFORMAL DISCOVERY CONFERENCES (ver. 2.6) Department 514 will not schedule an Informal Discovery Conference (IDC) until all parties have filed and served a declaration in support of a request for an IDC under Local Rule 3.31(2) with a courtesy copy sent to dept514@alameda.courts.ca.gov. A party requesting an IDC may not file a discovery motion unless there is no response to its request for an IDC pursuant to CCP section 2016.080(b). Due to the current public health emergency, Informal Discovery Conferences are held remotely. Courtesy copies of all motions, oppositions, and reply briefs are required to be delivered immediately after filing to Department 514. Tentative rulings for motions are available under the eCourt Public Portal at https://eportal.alameda.courts.ca.gov/ under the case number and name, and the tentative rulings tab. Tentative rulings become the order of the Court unless by 4:00 PM the court day before the hearing, a party contesting a tentative ruling notifies the Court of the contest by both 1) through the tentative ruling tab in the eCourt Public Portal, and 2) by e-mailing the clerk at dept514@alameda.courts.ca.gov and all parties, of the contest, the case name and number, and the legal and/or factual reason for the contest. If a tentative ruling is not contested by any party by 4:00 PM the court day before the hearing, an appearance is not necessary and the tentative ruling becomes the order of the Court. If the tentative ruling is contested, the Court will notice all parties by e-mail of the new date and time of the hearing which will be held by video due to the current public health emergency. A party requesting a hearing for an ex parte application in Department 514 must first obtain a hearing date and reservation number through the eCourt Public Portal at https://eportal.alameda.courts.ca.gov/ under the case number and name, and provide notice to all parties of the hearing no later than 10:00 AM the court day before the hearing. The Court will then e-mail all parties providing notice that the hearing will be held by video due to the current public health emergency. File endorsed copies of all applications plus proof of service, and courtesy copies of all opposition briefs, must be sent to Department 514 at dept514@alameda.courts.ca.gov before the hearing. The only recordings allowed of any court hearing is that by an official court reporter. The Court does not provide court reporters in civil cases. The parties may provide their own court reporter.
