              1             I, Al Adams, declare as follows:

              2             1.      I am currently employed by the Office of the State Fire Marshal in the position of

              3     Chief of the Fire Engineering & Investigations Division.

              4             2.      I have personal knowledge regarding the examination given by the Automatic Fire

              5     Extinguishing Systems division of the Office of the State Fire Marshal, to certify a Fire Sprinkler

              6    Fitter pursuant to section 940, of the Califomia Code of Regulations, Title 19, Division 1, Chapter

              7     5.5, Automafic Fire Extinguishing Systems Certificafion, secdons 920 through 948
              8    (Examination).
              9             3.      The Office of the State Fire Marshal contracts with the outside vendor PearsonVue
             10    to conduct the Examination. PearsonVue currently offers the Examination in English. However,
             11    if requested, PearsonVue will allow a translator to accompany the applicant to translate the test in
             12    Spanish and in other languages.
             13
