Before I can do so, I am required to meet and confer with the party who filed the pleading that I am responding to at least five days before the date when the responsive pleading is due (if I am filing a demurrer or motion to strike) and at least five days before the last day a motion for judgment on the pleadings may be filed (if I am filing a motion for judgment on the pleadings). The Answer's proof of service states it was mailed on 5/25/22, Defendant filed his Answer with the Court on 5/31/22, but I received it by mail yesterday 6/6/22. On 6/6/22, I sent an email to Defense counsel with my meet and confer details and followed up with a phone call for which I left a message with the receptionist. Today, on 6/7/22, I faxed a letter to Defense counsel with the same meet and confer details and followed up with a phone call for which I left a voicemail.
