CCMAAUTHORIZATION FOR CONDUCT OF UNCONTESTED EVICTIONS FOR
NON-PAYMENT OF RENT
The Housing Authority of the City of Sarasota (“HACS”) employs property
managers who are responsible for the day-to-day Management of residentia]
dwelling units owned and operated by HACS.
HACS property managers’ duties include the day-to-day management tasks,
renting units, maintenance of units, and collection of rents from the tenants.
HACS property managers are hereby authorized to process evictions of
tenants from HACS dwelling units for non-payment of rent in accordance
with §83.59, as amended, and advisory opinions of the Florida Bar.
Specifically, HACS property managers are authorized to perform the.
following functions in evictions of tenants for non-payment of rent:
1. Complete, sign, and file complaints for eviction for non-payment
of rent; and
2. Complete, sign, and file motions for default; and
3. Obtain final judgments of possession based on defaults: and
4, Obtain and secure the execution of writs of possession.
HACS property managers are authorized to perform these functions in
uncontested non-payment eviction actions only.
