TECHNIQUE: T1, T2, T2 GRE and STIR weighted sequences of the cervical spine were obtained in a closed magnet. COMPARISON: No prior studies were available forcomparison at the time of dictation. FINDINGS: The visualized portions of the posterior fossa are within normal limits.The craniocervical junction isunremarkable. C3-C4 broad-based posterior central and C6-C7 focal posterior central subligamentous herniations; narrowing lateral recesses, impinging ventral thecaltakeoff of CS nerve roots and traversing encroaching ventral thecal takeoff of C8 nerve roots respectively. Concomitant posterior disc bulges also noted between C3 and C6 epidural fat. efTacing Remainder of the cervical disc levels disc levels are of normal height and hydration. and show no evidence of significant bulge or herniation. There isno fracture or listhesis.Vertebral marrow signal ispreserved. The cord signal is normal. There isstraightening of the cervical lordosis. IMPRESSION: Dual level findings of post traumatic C-spine injury involving C3-C4 and C6-C7 posterior herniations as described with regional nerve root compromise.
