Hon. O. Peter Sherwood, J.S.C.
Commercial Division, Part 49
Supreme Court, New York County
Re: LI QUN DIAO-TIN V. EXPRESS TRADE CAPITAL, INC. ET AL.
Index No.: 652808/2017
Dear Judge Sherwood:
We represent Plaintiff in the above-referenced action (“Action”). On August 30, 2019,
Plaintiff’s prior counsel filed a notice of charging lien in the Action in respect of prior
counsel’s alleged unpaid attorney’s fees (NYSCEF Doc. No. 99). At a status conference with
the Court on September 3, 2019, Your Honor directed that Plaintiff notify the Court by not
later than September 6, 2019 as to whether Plaintiff objected to said lien for purposes of the
Court scheduling a hearing on the issue of prior counsel’s attorney’s fees. Please accept this
correspondence as Plaintiff’s response to the Court that Plaintiff does object to said lien, as
Plaintiff has and continues to dispute to the propriety of the underlying attorney’s fees.
Respectfully submitted,
/s/ Annie E. Causey
