2 PLEASE TAKE NOTICE that pursuant to San Francisco County Superior Court Local
3 Rule 3.5(C)(2), Plaintiffs Jane Roe, Jane Doe I, Jane Doe II, and Jane Doe III (“Plaintiffs”)
4 hereby apply for an order designating the above-captioned matter as complex within the meaning
5 of California Rules of Court, Rule 3.400. This case is a class action and is likely to involve
6 management of a large number of witnesses as well as a substantial amount of documentary or
7 other evidence. See Cal. R. Ct. 3.400(b)(2). Plaintiffs also anticipate Defendant filing pre-trial
8 motions that may require significant judicial resources. See Cal. R. Ct. 3.400(b)(1). Accordingly,
9 this matter requires “exceptional judicial management to avoid placing unnecessary burdens on
10 the court or the litigants and to expedite the case, keep costs reasonable, and promote effective
11 decision making…” Cal. R. Ct. 3.400(a). Plaintiffs therefore respectfully request that the Court
12 designate this matter as complex.
