7923.105.  

The court shall decide the case after the court does all of the following:

(a) Examine the record in camera, if permitted by subdivision (b) of Section 915 of the Evidence Code.

(b) Examine any papers filed by the parties.

(c) Consider any oral argument and additional evidence as the court may allow.

Thus, under section 7923.105(a) in camera inspection of the record in question is not required as a matter of law, but is trusted to the sound discretion of the trial court. Id . ( quoting Yarish v. Nelson , (1972)) 27 Cal.App.3d 893, 904). There are circumstances where it is self-evident that the information sought to be protected is covered by the privilege. Torres v.
