The Hon. William Stackhouse is a judge for the 8th Judicial District Court of North Carolina. He was elected to the bench on November 8, 2016.
The 8th Judicial District encompasses Wayne County, Greene County, and Lenoir County.
Prior to his election, Stackhouse was an assistant district attorney in the Office of the District Attorney for the 8th Judicial District.
Stackhouse earned a bachelor’s degree in business management from North Carolina State University in 2003. He then completed a J.D. at North Carolina Central University School of Law in 2009. As a law student, he interned with the Orange County District Attorney’s Office and the Wake County Public Defender’s Office.
A resident of Goldsboro, North Carolina, at the time of his election, Stackhouse attended Eastern Wayne High School. He and his wife, Elizabeth, have two children.
