The Hon. William J. Moore is a judge for the Robeson County District Court in the 16B Judicial District of North Carolina. He was appointed to the seat by former Governor Bev Perdue in 2009.
Moore was first elected to the District Court in Robeson County in 1996, though he lost his bid for re-election in 2008.
Prior to beginning his judicial career, he worked as an assistant district attorney with the Robeson County District Attorney’s Office and was a former staff attorney for Lumbee River Legal Services Corporation. Moore also taught Business Law for more than twenty years at the University of North Carolina at Pembroke and was also an instructor at Robeson Community College.
Moore received a bachelor’s degree from Pembroke State University in 1979. He then completed a J.D. at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill School of Law in 1985.
