Hon. William G. Clay, IV is an associate judge for the 20th Judicial Circuit Court of Illinois in St. Clair County. He was appointed to the bench by the circuit judges of the 20th Judicial Circuit Court in 2015, filling the vacancy created by the retirement of the Hon. Laninya Cason (Ret.).
Prior to his appointment, Clay was an assistant state’s attorney with the St. Clair County State’s Attorney’s Office.
He received a bachelor’s degree from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign in 2004. Clay went on to complete a J.D. at Saint Louis University School of Law in 2007.
He was admitted to practice in Illinois (2007) and Missouri (2008).
Clay and his wife, Kahahlah, have two sons.
