Hon. William D. Alexander is a judge for the 10th Judicial District Court of Colorado. He was appointed to the bench by former Governor John Hickenlooper on April 28, 2012, filling the vacancy created by the retirement of the Hon. C. Dennis Maes (Ret.).
The 10th Judicial District includes Pueblo County.
During his judicial tenure, his caseload has included juvenile delinquency, the Behavioral Health Treatment Court, the Veteran’s Treatment Court, mental health matters, criminal, and juvenile dependency and neglect.
Prior to his appointment, Alexander served as a municipal judge for the City of Pueblo (2002 to 2012). Before that, he was a magistrate for the 10th Judicial District (1994 to 2002) and worked as a deputy state public defender with the Office of the Colorado State Public Defender (1990 to 1994).
Alexander completed a J.D. at the University of Denver, Sturm College of Law in 1990.
He served on the board of the Colorado Lawyer Trust Account.
