Hon. William B. Bain is a judge for the 4th Judicial District Court of Colorado. He was appointed to the bench by former Governor Bill Ritter in 2010.
The 4th Judicial District includes El Paso and Teller Counties.
Bain has served as Chief Judge of the 4th Judicial District since 2017, and he presides over a criminal and civil docket.
Prior to his appointment, he spent ten years as a deputy district attorney with the 4th Judicial District and was a civil litigator for the City of Colorado Springs. Bain also practiced as an attorney at Welborn Sullivan Meck & Tooley in Denver.
He received a bachelor’s degree from Middlebury College in 1990. Bain went on to complete a J.D. at Cornell Law School in 1996.
He served as a board member of Court Care, Safe Passage, and the El Paso County Bar Foundation. Bain was also a president of the Ben S. Wendelken American Inn of Court.
A fifth-generation Coloradoan, he has resided in Colorado Springs since 1997.
