Hon. Wes Williams is a judge for the 10th Judicial District Circuit Court of Oregon. He was elected to the bench on November 6, 2018.
The 10th Judicial District includes Union and Wallowa Counties.
Prior to his election, Williams had managed his own private practice in La Grande since 1996. During that time, he handled civil and criminal matters in both state and federal courts as well as the Oregon Court of Appeals and the Oregon Supreme Court.
Williams received a B.S. and a teaching certificate from Portland State University in 1984. He then taught U.S. History and Law and Justice at Sandy High School for seven years before completing a J.D. at the University of Oregon School of Law in 1996. While a law student, Williams completed clerkships at the Oregon Department of Justice and at Tyler, Rasmussen & Mundorff.
He was raised on a farm in Oregon. To fund his education, Williams worked in construction and as a farm hand. He went on to become the first person in his family to earn a college degree. Williams and his wife, Jennifer, have two children. In his free time, he enjoys reading history, fly fishing, and spending time with his family at their mountain cabin.
