Judge Wendy Demchick-Alloy: Professional Background and Legal Expertise

Biography

Hon. Wendy Demchick-Alloy is a judge for the Montgomery County Court of Common Pleas in Pennsylvania. She was elected to the bench in 2009.


Demchick-Alloy received a B.S. in criminal justice from Northeastern University in 1978. She went on to earn a J.D. from Villanova University School of Law in 1981.


Prior to her election to the bench, Demchick-Alloy was a prosecutor with both the Montgomery County and Philadelphia County District Attorney’s Offices. During her tenure with the Montgomery County District Attorney’s Office, she served in its Major Crimes Unit and Sex Crimes Unit. She also served as head of the county Grand Jury. While in Philadelphia County, Demchick-Alloy served assignments in the Juvenile, Rape, Child Abuse, and Homicide Units.


During her tenure on the bench, she has presided over the Family Court.


Demchick-Alloy is credited with establishing the Montgomery Child Advocacy Project, which seeks to provide pro bono legal assistance to abused and neglected children. She also served as its Project Director.


Her memberships have included the Montgomery County Bar Association, the Pennsylvania Bar Association, and the Pennsylvania District Attorneys Association. She was on the Boards of Directors of the Montgomery County Correctional Facility Prison, the Victims Services Center of Montgomery County, and Security on Campus.


She is married to Dr. Curtis A. Alloy.
