Hon. W.F. Roberts (Ret.) was a judge for the Potter County Court at Law No. 1 in Texas. He joined the bench in 1991. Roberts retired in January 2019.
Prior to beginning his judicial career, he was a managing partner at Miller & Roberts (1988 to 1991) and Miller, Roberts & Butler (1985 to 1988). Roberts was also a partner at Miller, Roberts & Jernigan (1984 to 1985) and Miller & Roberts (1983 to 1984).
Before entering private practice, he worked as an assistant district attorney with the Harris County District Attorney’s Office (1973 to 1980) and was the first assistant district attorney with the 47th District Attorney in Potter County (1981 to 1983).
Roberts earned a B.S. in psychology from the University of Houston in 1969. He went on to complete a J.D. at the University of Houston, Bates College of Law in 1972.
Roberts attended Odessa High School.
He is registered as a Republican.
