Biography

The Hon. Travis J. Arrindell is a judge for the Housing Court of the City of New York in Bronx County. He was appointed to the bench by former Chief Administrative Judge Lawrence Marks in 2022.


Arrindell initially presided over the Housing Part in New York County.


Prior to his appointment, he spent three years as a supervising attorney in the Tenant Anti-Harassment Unit of the New York City Department of Housing Preservation and Development, joining the office in 2019. Before that, Arrindell was deputy program director of the Group Representation Unit at Brooklyn Legal Services Corporation A (2016 to 2019).


He received a B.A. (1999) and an M.A. (2001) from Brooklyn College. Arrindell then completed a J.D. at Widener University Delaware Law School in 2006.


He began his legal career in the Housing Litigation Division of the New York City Department of Housing Preservation and Development. Arrindell began as an agency attorney in 2007, rising through the ranks to become a managing attorney in 2013. He remained in that capacity for three years.
