Hon. Todd L. Kassaw is a judge for the 159th District Court of Texas in Angelina County. He was elected to the bench in 2022.
Prior to his election, Kassaw was an attorney at Skelton Slusher Barnhill Watkins Wells, PLLC since 2014. Before that, he practiced for twenty-three years at the Zeleskey Law Firm, PLLC. He first joined the firm in 1990 and was later named a partner prior to leaving the firm in 2013.
Kassaw was board certified in personal injury trial law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization in 1996.
He earned a B.S. in agricultural economics from Texas A&M University in 1987. Kassaw then completed a J.D. at South Texas College of Law Houston in 1990.
He served as a member of the American Board of Trial Advocates, the State Bar of Texas, the Texas Association of Defense Counsel, the Angelina County Bar Association, and the Texas Bar Foundation (Fellow). Kassaw was also involved with the Lufkin/Angelina County Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors and Leadership Lufkin.
He received the Jack C. “Butch” McMullen, Jr. Silver Spike Award in 2004.
Kassaw, who was born in Dallas, Texas, and his wife have two children. When not presiding over legal matters, he enjoys fishing, baseball, and spending time with his family.
He is registered as a Republican.
