Judge Timothy Thomason: Professional Background and Legal Expertise

Biography

Hon. Timothy Thomason is a judge for the Maricopa County Superior Court in Arizona. He was appointed to the bench by former Governor Jan Brewer in July 2014.


During his judicial tenure, Thomason has held assignments in the Civil and Family Courts. He also served as an associate presiding judge of the Civil Department.


Prior to joining the bench, he practiced for thirteen years as a partner in Dickinson Wright (formerly Mariscal Weeks) (2001 to 2014). Before that, Thomason was a partner at Streich Lang (1984 to 2001). He also sat as a judge pro tempore for the Maricopa County Superior Court.


Thomason received a B.A. from Creighton University in 1981. He went on to complete a J.D. at the University of Iowa College of Law in 1984.


Thomason is a Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers.


He was a past president of Childsplay and a member of the St. Vincent de Paul Society.
