The Hon. Timothy L. Dupree is a judge for the 29th Judicial District Court of Kansas. He was elected to the bench on November 4, 2014.
The 29th Judicial District encompasses Wyandotte County.
Dupree earned a bachelor’s degree in psychology and women’s studies from the University of Kansas in 2001. He then completed a J.D. at Washburn University School of Law in 2003.
After graduating from law school, Dupree was an assistant county attorney with the Lyon County Attorney’s Office. He served in that capacity until 2008, at which time he opened his own private practice. Dupree supplemented his practice with service as a judge pro tempore for the 29th Judicial District Court (2010 to 2014).
His memberships have included the Kansas Bar Association and the Wyandotte County Bar Association. He has also been involved with the Kansas City NAACP, the Kansas City Chamber of Commerce (Kansas), and the Leavenworth Road Neighborhood Association.
He is a recipient of the Black Man of Distinction Pioneer Award from Friends of Yates (2013).
As the son of two church pastors, Dupree attended Wyandotte High School. He later became the Senior Pastor of Faith Temple Church in Topeka, Kansas, before founding Grace Abounds Community Church in Kansas City, Kansas.
